Live Stuff: Fleet Foxes, Adele, Kings of Leon, and Arcade Fire

There were a few technical difficulties in the last few weeks regarding some of the music I’ve posted (read: I post leaked material and artists don’t really like that). But that’s all been ironed out and I’m back in full force to share some great live tracks with you that I’ve recently uncovered and added to my arsenal of bootlegged brilliance.

Some of these bands I’ve loved forever. Others I’ve discovered or learned to appreciate more recently. Some have even fallen out of favor in my eyes in recent years. But what all of these bands have in common is a fantastic live presence.

So check out the tracks, and enjoy.

Fleet Foxes – Mykonos (live)

Adele – Rolling In The Deep (live)

Kings of Leon – Fans (live)

Arcade Fire – Wake Up (live)

Fleet Foxes – Helplessness Blues

I first became enamored with this band when I heard their song Blue Ridge Mountains. And it actually wasn’t the studio version – it was their Take Away Show from La Blogotheque. And what was so perfect about this band was their ability to build folk songs into grand operations – to take their gorgeous harmonies to the next level by injecting the song with a sense over power. Coming Soon: Fleet Foxes, Pearl Jam, & White Stripes

I know the posts have been a bit sparse recently, but here’s what you can look forward to in the next few days:

– Pearl Jam announces the forthcoming release of 20th Anniversary editions of Vs. and Vitalogy.

– Fleet Foxes release a new track from their forthcoming album. The album will be released in May and will be accompanied by a short tour.

– The White Stripes announced today that they will be breaking up for good.

These topics and more to be elaborated on soon…

Fleet Foxes: Mykonos

Mykonos (Live in DC)

The door slammed loud and rose up a cloud of dust on up
Footsteps follow, down through the hollow sound, torn up.

And you would go to Mykonos
With a vision of a gentle coast
And a sun to maybe dissipate
Shadows of the mess you made

How did animals in the snow tipped pines, I find
Hatching from the seed of your thin mind, all night?

And you would go to Mykonos
With a vision of a gentle coast
And a sun to maybe dissipate
Shadows of the mess you made

Brother you don’t need to turn me away
I was waiting down at the ancient gate

You go
Wherever you go today
You go today

I remember how they took you down
As the winter turned the meadow brown

You go
Wherever you go today
You go today

When I’m walking brother don’t you forget
It ain’t often that you’ll ever find a friend

You go
Wherever you go today
You go today
